Property Protection

At Kelly’s Pressure Washing we pride ourselves on our Property Protection. Property Protection in the Exterior Cleaning business refers to precautions taken before and during washing to minimize the chance of problems occurring on the site. While exterior cleaning is a relatively simple process, if certain precautions aren’t taken extreme damage can occur to a property.

First we place our large caution signs by our trailer and hoses. These large signs announce our presence and warn of overspray and trip hazards. This helps avoid a child or neighbor tripping over pressure hoses and helps everyone to be alert for overspray.

Our second step is to cover and tape off anything that is not supposed to get wet! This includes all exterior outlets, doorbells, fans, and Wifi Boxes. This is the most important step. The smallest amount of water can cause extreme electrical issues. Next we ensure all objects are removed from the patio or porch that aren’t intended to get wet. This includes cushions or rugs.

We water down all plants, vegetation and windows prior to cleaning. This allows them to be wet and also cool them down. Soft Wash Solutions are always plant safe when used correctly and proper precautions are taken! We make sure all of your plants are wet throughout the cleaning. We always ensure all windows are closed prior to cleaning.

As a person looking to potentially hire a company for exterior cleaning, it is extremely important to ask about their Property Protection processes. If they look at you like you have three heads, it may be a good idea to get other quotes. Exterior Cleaning can be dangerous if not done professionally. Make sure the contractor you choose has a protection process in place.

For another pressure washing contractor reading this: taking the small amount of time to prep a property for cleaning can save the headache and time spent getting something repaired. It is also the professional way to safely clean a home. Don’t forget to prep before you clean!
